Cape Town is named one of the cities to host the 2011 international Ice Hockey World Championships (division III) which will be held at The Ice Station, GrandWest from 11 to 17 April.
The six competing teams include South Africa, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Luxembourg, Israel, Turkey and Mongolia, said Mervyn Padayachie of the organizing committee, in a press release.
The winner will move up to division two and, if successful there, will have a chance to join the World Championship Division, which features teams such as the USA, Canada and Russia.
The 13th and 16th are days of rest. On all other days, three daily heats will be held at 13h00, 16h15 and 19h45. Tickets for all games cost R30 for adults and R20 for children under 16 each and are available at Computicket.
